ANASHAY WRIGHT
FOUNDER & CHIEF EXECUTIVE DISRUPTOR

Anashay Wright was born to disrupt.
As an infant, she ran before she could walk. In adolescence, she shadowed her mother - a poet, singer, and community advocate - as she used the power of the pen to persuade community leaders. In high school, Anashay took the reins from her mother and began to cause “good trouble” in her role as a disruptive partner.
Her journey was anything but easy and thankfully, she didn’t walk it alone. Anashay had a community of leaders - her principal, local elected officials, and community organizers - who became the primary support system when Anashay’s mother was diagnosed with cancer.
From providing meals and rides to connecting Anashay and her siblings to mentorship programs and resources, the community saw a need and provided. Shortly after high school, her mother passed away at the age of 39.
However, the support of her community and school ignited a fire that has fueled the disruptive leader she is today.
Nearly 30 years later, the impact of her community can still be felt. She is a wife, mother, national award-winning educator, speaker, business owner, PTA president, and proud graduate of DeKalb County public schools. She has 20 years of experience partnering with leaders, policymakers, families, and communities to disrupt systemic inequities in education and beyond. In 2021, she led efforts that resulted in bringing a quarter-million dollars ($750K) to the same community that supported her.
